I'm going to make this brief and to the point because before we know it a bombardment of fall winter 2012-2013 looks will be upon us before we even get the chance to rummage out our precious credit cards in the hopes of grabbing some spring summer beauties. And what does that result in? Confusion! But I'll go into the runway season schedules with you some other time, that's a whole post in itself!
So here it is, a style break down brought to you by the letter S! Here's what you'll be wearing all summer long (and possibly into the colder months too!)
Shape: The peplum. Catwalks were filled with these ruffle like hems seen on dresses, skirts, tops and pants, you name it! (L to R: Dries Van Noten, Vera Wang and Camilla and Marc top)
Styles: Listed are a few styles that stood out this season as clear trends to look out for.
Shade: Pastels were huge on the catwalks and this shade of sweet pale pink made many appearances. I can see a lot of you reliving the glory days in this hue. (L to R: Givenchy, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Vera Wang, Antonio Berardi and Richard Nicoll)
Staple: The shirt will forever be the ultimate staple. For spring summer sheer or silky fabrics are the perfect choice and will be seemingly popular. Equipment are the cult go to brand for shirts and pictured is one I think we can all take a fancy too.
Shoes: The metal capped toe was seen in shows such as Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Thakoon (all pictured) and is a cool update to any classic shoe. Not only were capped toes making a splash but the return of futuristic metallic shoes graced many catwalks along with equally shiny accessories.
So theres a few trends your likely to be heading for!
And with good reason!
